Rising for Life

Our global, in-person NVC convention, where the community steps off the screen and into the same room.

Rising for Life is a gathering at the intersection of nonviolent action, personal and collective transformation, and a real commitment to social change. It brings together facilitators, organizers, activists, and movement-builders to explore the actual work of nonviolence today, daring to speak when our voices shake, practicing repair in our families and communities, sharing power in hierarchical spaces, and moving from conflict avoidance to transformative dialogue.

From personal growth to collective action

When one of us matters, all of us matter.

Our personal liberation is bound up with our collective liberation. At Rising for Life, you're invited to explore how inner clarity becomes outer action: how empathy becomes activism, and grief becomes courage.

Through frameworks, role-play, reflection, and systemic thinking, we build the muscles of nonviolence, grounded not in perfection, but in presence.

This includes liberatory architecture, building organizations that reflect care, equity, and shared power.

The "It's Alive" sessions

Alongside the content sessions, every day holds an "It's Alive" session, dedicated time to bring a real, living conflict (personal, relational, or systemic) into a safe, guided space. Instead of squeezing real life around a packed schedule, we build room for it in advance. Facilitated by our lead trainers and a team of assistants, it's where the practice meets what's actually happening in our lives.

A Children's Hub

Parents shouldn't have to choose between their own learning and being present with their children. Our Children's Hub is a dedicated, experiential space led by NVC-trained educators, play, creativity, movement, and real connection, so families can grow side by side.
