This policy explains how NVC Rising collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit this website, sign up for our newsletter, submit a lead-capture or contact form, or take part in our programmes. As we are based in Switzerland and also address visitors in the European Union, we process your data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP / revDSG) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). References to GDPR provisions below apply to processing that falls within the scope of the GDPR.
The controller responsible for processing your personal data is:
Rising For Life (NVC Rising)This website is hosted on our behalf by Vercel Inc. (440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA), with serving infrastructure located in the Frankfurt, Germany region. When you visit this site, the hosting provider automatically collects and stores information that your browser transmits, in server log files: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the referring page, and the date and time of access. This data is not merged with other data sources and is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the site (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). Vercel acts as our processor under a data-processing agreement.
When you subscribe to our newsletter we process the email address you provide, and any interests or preferences you select, in order to send you updates about NVC Rising programmes and content. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR). To collect sign-ups and to send our newsletters we use the services of Wix (Wix.com Ltd.) and beehiiv (beehiiv Inc.), each acting as our processor under a data-processing agreement. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future — for example via the unsubscribe link in every email or by contacting us — without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
When you submit a lead-capture or contact form we process the details you enter — typically your name, email address, the interests you indicate, and the content of your message — in order to respond to your enquiry and, where applicable, to inform you about the programme you expressed interest in. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual steps and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6 (1)(b) and (f) GDPR), or your consent where you have given it (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR).
Strictly necessary cookies, which are required for the website to function, are set on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR) and do not require consent.
We also use cookies and similar technologies that are not strictly necessary. These are only set after you have given your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR and, for EU/EEA visitors, the ePrivacy rules), which you can give or decline via our consent banner and withdraw at any time with effect for the future. They include:
These providers may process data outside Switzerland and the EU/EEA, including in the USA; in such cases we rely on appropriate safeguards as described in section 4. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, and manage your cookie settings through our consent banner whenever you like.
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out above, or for as long as we are required to retain it to comply with statutory retention obligations (e.g. commercial and tax law). Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe. Enquiry data is deleted once your request has been dealt with and no retention obligations remain.
We share your data only with processors who act on our behalf (such as our hosting, email, and form providers) under a data-processing agreement, and only to the extent necessary. Where a processor is located in a country that does not offer an adequate level of data protection within the meaning of the Swiss FADP or the GDPR, we ensure an appropriate level of protection — for example through the EU Standard Contractual Clauses together with their Swiss addendum. We do not sell your personal data.
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@nvcrising.org. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In Switzerland this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). If you are resident in the EU/EEA and the GDPR applies to the processing, you may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.
This website is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our processing or in the law. The current version published on this page applies.
