NVC and Intimacy - Ideal and Reality
Recorded at the
2nd Global festival
Shigeko Suzuki and Ken Anno
Saturday, 17 October 2020
In this session Shigeko and Ken who have been practicing NVC throughout their relationship for 16 years will share their experience, how it started, how they intended to use NVC and how more often than not NVC didn’t work. Instead of trying to paint a rosy picture of how NVC can make a perfect intimate relationship, they will share their experience of both good times and bad times. They will also share how they’ve managed to survive periods of intense disconnect, and how the periods of intense disconnect contributed to even deeper connection.
Shigeko Suzuki and Ken Anno have been involved in introducing NVC in Japan since 2004. They both have been involved in translating and Publishing Marshall Rosenberg’s “Nonviolent Communication, a Language of Life” in Japanese and were part of the organizing team of International Intensive Trainings in Japan, in 2014 and 2017. They have participated and assisted in BayNVC leadership program for over 10 years. They continue to collaborate with the members of the NVC community in Japan, to introduce trainers from abroad, as well as share NVC, as CNVC certified trainers themselves.
