This pack includes two puppets (one Giraffe and one Jackal) and two headbands (Giraffe Ears and Jackal Ears), sold together.
Since the Giraffe has the largest heart of any land mammal and a long neck to gain perspective, it is used as a symbol of compassion, focusing on needs and strategies that seek a win/win. The Jackal represents Power-Over, moralistic judgments, demands, guilt and a win/lose mentality.
You can use the puppets to represent expression from the Giraffe (empathy) or the Jackal (judgment), and the ears to represent the type of listening: front-facing ears for listening or judging toward the other, rear-facing ears for listening or judging toward oneself.
While it's easy to fall into right-and-wrong thinking, the Jackal can help us become aware of our habitual thoughts and words, look more deeply, and discover our observations, feelings, needs and requests. We can learn to love our Jackal, because it helps us know when something is very important to us.
